I'm Hector, and I built Blue Pill Media after getting laid off from a job That layoff? Best thing that ever happened to me. It forced me to ask myself what I actually wanted to do with my time, and the answer was simple: pursue work I can get lost in.
I've spent over 20 years immersed in creative work—music production, sound design, graphic design, video production, and now VR180 content creation. I taught music production at a nonprofit where I got to watch students discover what happens when you give them the tools and the space to create. I've been collecting records for two decades, not just to listen but to understand how sounds become other sounds, how samples transform into something entirely new. Blending the old with the new is the same creative approach I use in everything I do—whether I'm color grading footage in DaVinci Resolve, building workflows for 8K VR files, or framing a shot that tells the story a client can feel but can't quite articulate.
Blue Pill Media offers photography, videography, color grading, and VR production services. I also work with clients who need clean, professional real estate photography, but I'm equally at home creating immersive VR experiences or handling post-production workflows that most people find intimidating. I've taught myself the technical side—DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Creative Suite, Canon VR180 production—because I'm genuinely fascinated by how this stuff works and where it's headed.
You'd probably never guess, but I'm also an AASI Level 1 certified snowboard instructor working toward my Level 2. On the surface, that might seem disconnected from multimedia production, but it's not. Teaching snowboarding has sharpened my ability to read people quickly, adapt my approach on the fly, and break down complex skills into digestible steps. When someone's scared to point their board downhill for the first time, I need to understand what they're feeling and communicate in a way that builds confidence. That's the same skill set I bring to client work—listening deeply, understanding what they actually need (not just what they're asking for), and delivering something that exceeds expectations.
I take on projects that genuinely excite me, and that energy shows in the work. If you're looking for someone who can handle the technical complexity, communicate clearly, and my make your final product look amazing, let's talk. I'm here to make things that matter.
